London Buses in the Forties and Fifties

Open to all

Fred Ivey

We are delighted that Fred Ivey can return to continue his highly acclaimed presentation to LHRG in December 2016.  That meeting, entitled 'What the RTs replaced', covering the last years of the London tram network and the early stages of trolleybus conversion.  Fred will continue with a review of the bus types working in London after the war up to the start of Routemaster introduction.

The meeting will be held at 18.00 for 18.30 on Thursday, 8 June 2017 in the ground floor meeting room at TfL, Palestra, 197 Blackfriars Road, SE1 8NJ (opposite Southwark tube station, buses 45, 63, 100).

Seventy years after Leyton's open-staircase LTs were replaced by the first post-war RTs, Fred Ivey will recall the scene at Victoria Bus Station where he photographed LT118.
