Delaine Buses

Open to all

Peter Moore

Independent bus operators have come and gone over the years. However one that has been constant has been Delaine Buses, now run by the fifth and sixth generations of the family that started the business in 1890. Motorbuses have been run for more than 100 years, and its very traditional livery is still a familiar feature of Peterborough bus station and in towns and villages in South Lincolnshire.

Peter Moore is Delaine's authorised historian, and a part-time driver for the company, and will tell the story of this fascinating and much loved bus company. Managing director Anthony Delaine-Smith has also agreed to come along to answer any technical and family related questions.
