Go North West - RESET

Open to all

Nigel Featham

On 2 June 2019 Go-Ahead took over First Manchester's largest garage, Queens Road, giving the Group its first services in Greater Manchester, serving large areas of North Manchester and Salford.

Nigel Featham had been achieving great things as Managing Director of Arriva in Yorkshire and the North East and was appointed to run Go-Ahead's new Manchester operations. It was always going to be a challenge, even before anyone had heard of COVID and when the thought of franchising the region's bus service was not much more than a theoretical possibility.

The cold reality is it was an even greater challenge than even Nigel could have realised, and now that restrictions are being removed, agreement has been reached on a long-running industrial dispute and Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham has his foot firmly on the franchising pedal, it's time to 'reset' the business, as Nigel will explain.

The meeting will take place at The Abbey Community Centre, 34 Great Smith Street, Westminster London SW1P 3BU at 18.00 for 18.30. Great Smith Street is served by the 88 bus; it is a short walk from the Westminster Abbey stops on routes 11, 24, 148 and 211 and from Westminster or St James's Park Underground stations.
