Midland Branch visit to the West Midlands area

NX West Midlands, Chaserider and Select Bus Services

We are visiting the National Express West Midlands Perry Barr and Walsall garages, plus Chaserider at Cannock and Select Bus Services at Penkridge.

Please meet at Perry Barr NXWM Garage, reception area, at 1000.

Alternative methods of joining our visit as follows. 

• Public transport to Perry Barr Garage. Buses 33 and 51 from High Street/Carrs Lane in Birmingham City Centre to Perry Barr One Stop Shopping Centre then cross Walsall Road and walk along Aston Lane. The pedestrian entrance is beyond the traffic lights. Perry Barr Railway Station is adjacent to One Stop, and Outer Circle No. 11 stops outside the Garage.
• Coach from Derby, Full Street at 0845 direct to Perry Barr Garage.
• Car to Perry Barr Garage. The entrance to car park is from Aston Lane A4040 and we need your car registration number beforehand please. On arrival, please reverse into a parking place. 

Assemble in the reception area at 1000 for a conducted tour of this new facility including control room, canteen, the driver simulator, and engineering facilities. The coach will then take all participants to Perry Barr One Stop Shopping Centre where we will board a hydrogen-powered Service 51 bus to Walsall Bus Station (£2 fare or ENCTS pass).

The coach will meet the party at Walsall Bus Station and convey us to Walsall’s Birchills Garage for a tour, following which there will be a short break in Walsall Town Centre.

The afternoon will consist of a visit to Chaserider Buses Garage at Delta Way, Cannock followed by Select Buses at Penkridge. The coach will then return to Perry Barr before proceeding to Derby.

Please note that hi-viz jackets are required throughout this visit.
