'Cut the fuss, travel by bus'

'Cut the fuss, travel by bus'

Annual General Meeting of the North Western and Yorkshire Branch of the Omnibus Society will take place on Saturday 16th March 2019 at Talbot Lane Methodist Church, Moorgate Street, Rotherham, S60 2EY (opposite Rotherham Town Hall) starting at 2:00pm.

This will be followed by a presentation by Nigel Eggleton (new Omnibus Society Chairman) entitled 'Cut the fuss, travel by bus'. After some 40 years in the bus industry Nigel will reflect on the many similarities between his early days learning the trade and features of the industry today. He'll highlight the successes together with failures and the lessons from which valuable experience was gained. Today a greater awareness of customer expectations causes many to look at, for example, vehicle design, ticketing and marketing. It may be that nothing is ever new!

Thre will also be a Q&A Session about the Society,

Optional ride on the recently-opened TramTrain from Sheffield city centre to Rotherham in the morning. Meet at Cathedral Tram Stop in Sheffield at 1050 for 1101 departure. ENCTS passes are valid on Sheffield Supertram. Tickets may be purchased from conductor on tram. Please note that this trip is an informal arrangement.

The refurbished Rotherham interchange is scheduled to reopen to the public on Sunday 3 March 2019.
