Tour to Rothesay and Dunoon departing from Glasgow
We shall start on the 11:00 Calmac ferry from Wemyss Bay to Rothesay. The 09:57 ScotRail service from Glasgow Central (which I shall join at Paisley Gilmour St.) connects with this sailing.
At Rothesay, we shall be met by a West Coast Motors vehicle for a tour to Meikle Kilmory, Mount Stuart and Rothesay Bus Depôt before travelling onwards to Rhubodach for the connecting ferry to Colintraive, from where another West Coast Motors vehicle will take us to Dunoon for a visit to their depôt there as well as the town centre. There will be a lunch stop in Rothesay as well as a break in Dunoon. We plan to take the 18:20 Argyll Ferries sailing to Gourock, which connects with the 19:08 ScotRail service to Glasgow Central, due to arrive there at 19:59.
In the absence of any cost effective valid SPT day ticketing options, the best adult fares seem to be:
ScotRail £11.10, being £7.90 for a return from Glasgow to Wemyss Bay
+ £3.20 for a single from Gourock Pier to Port Glasgow
Calmac Ferries £3.05 + £1.10 = £4.15 (which is the cost of a relevant Hopscotch)
Argyll Ferries £3.95
West Coast Motors not exceeding £20
