CANCELLED: Scottish Branch: Weekend tour to Liverpool, 13th & 14th June

As you may be aware, last year’s planned weekend tour to Manchester had to be cancelled due to there being very little interest. With that in mind, your Committee has decided to seek an earlier commitment than in previous years from anyone wishing to attend. 

As usual, Stuarts of Carluke will provide the vehicle, which will depart from Cowcaddens Road, Glasgow on the north side of Buchanan Bus Station at 09.00 on the Saturday. We propose to proceed to Liverpool with possibly one depot visit on the way, and participants will then be free for the remainder of the day. Visits will be arranged to various operators in the Liverpool and Lancashire areas on the Sunday, with return to Glasgow by 20.00. 

Those wishing to take part should complete the enclosed slip and return it to me not later than Monday 30^th March, 2020, together with a remittance for the sum of £50.00, being a deposit, which will cover the fare of £40.00 and part of the cost of hotel accommodation. Cheques should be made payable, to “The Omnibus Society”. If the tour does not proceed, deposits received will be refunded. 

Assuming the tour goes ahead, accommodation will be arranged, probably at the Premier Inn in the north of the city, which is on the bus and train networks, for a likely sum of around £60 - £70 per room. However, I cannot guarantee that the cost will not be higher. Those who book for the tour will be advised of the accommodation arrangements in due course. 

Unfortunately, the vehicle for this tour will not be compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act.
